Understudies

 

In Shakespeare, Love enters
through the eye
and Death, the ear.

 

Because the ear cannot close.
Because the ear is the organ of suffrage.

 

Because death is the foreignest word.

 

Because it is secret,
because we are

 

shared by this secret.
